Only Crime/Outbreak
Think Fast
June 26, 2007

I like how labels have thought outside the box, figuring out a way to still release 7" vinyl that can be sold to the seemingly endless amount of kids who don't own record players. This two band four song split EP is available on both vinyl and as a digital download, making it available for all who want to purchase it.

I really do enjoy Only Crime, but I can't help but thinking of Good Riddance when I listen to them, due to singer Russ Rankin's recognizable voice. The songs are a little heavier than Good Riddance, mixing in influences like Bane and Black Flag, which is a nice contrast to the very melodic vocals.

Outbreak take up slightly over (two seconds) three minutes of your time on their portion of the split. These songs aren't as fast as their previous material, which is kind of a let down. The songs aren't bad at all, although they aren't as good as the two Only Crime offered. They offer a slight window as to what Outbreak is all about, compiling two songs that should get listeners at least interested in them.
