'Wake Up': Check Out Spike Lee's Campaign Video For Bernie Sanders

Spike LeeToday are the New York primaries in the ongoing, grueling race toward the 2016 U.S. election. While the Republicans are headed toward what promises to be a contentious convention to pick their nominee, the Democrats find Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders locked in a heated battle. And both have turned to celebrities for an extra push. Clinton recently had an expensive, fancy pants fundraiser thrown by George Clooney, while Sanders hit the stage at Coachella over the weekend to introduce rappers Run The Jewels, and that’s not all.

Sanders now has a new campaign video directed by none other than Spike Lee. Featuring Dr. Cornel West, Susan Sarandon, Tessa Thompson, Alan Cumming, Gaby Hoffman, Rosario Dawson, and Harry Belafonte, the promo highlights the key cornerstones of Sanders’ platform: a living wage, free education, and taking big money out of politics. Meanwhile, the celebrity endorsements drive home the argument that Sanders is the only one who will be looking out for everyday, working people.
