'Walking Dead' Star Norman Reedus Joins 'Triple Nine'; Joe Manganiello Heads To 'Tumbledown' & More

John Hillcoat always nabs great casts. “Lawless” had Tom Hardy, Jessica Chastain, Gary Oldman, Guy Pearce, I’m Not Famous Anymore, and many others. And now Deadline reports that “Walking Dead” dirtbag Norman Reedus has joined the cast of his latest, the contemporary cop thriller “Triple Nine.” This spectacular cast already includes Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Aaron Paul, Teresa Palmer, Kate Winslet and Gal Gadot. Damyo. Nick Cave will likely write the score again

Principal photography has begun on “Tumbledown,” a romantic comedy that already stars Jason Sudeikis and Rebecca Hall. And with production underway, the rest of the cast has been announced. It will include Dianna Agron, Griffin Dunne, Richard Masur, Blythe Danner and Joe Manganiello. The movie centers on a woman (Hall) unable to move on after the death of her husband, an acclaimed musician. Struggling to write his bio, she meets a brash New York academic (Sudekis) who has a different take on her husband’s life—and death. The unlikely pair must collaborate to craft the famous singer’s story and begin to write the next chapter in their lives together. Umm, that does not sound good, nor like much of a romantic “comedy,” but we shall see.

Tooken again. Liam Neeson is going to kick butt and take names one more time in “Taken 3.” Olivier Megaton is directing again, Forest Whitaker has joined the cast, and now Variety reports that up-and-coming actor Jonny Weston has also joined the cast. He’s quite good, this kid, and a paycheck is a paycheck, but hopefully he can line up more work worthy of his talents. You won’t have heard the last of him.

Meanwhile, director Lee Daniels is no longer making Martin Luther King movie “Selma.” The “Middle Of Nowhere” filmmaker Ava DuVernay is. She’s already got David Oyelowo in the cast as MLK himself. According to The Wrap, Paramount is now eyeing two-time Oscar nominee Tom Wilkinson to play President Lyndon B. Johnson. File under wish-list for now.

Has Terrence Malick completed “Knight Of Cups?” Joe Manganiello told Philly he’s made the cut and therefore the movie is “locked.” Sorry Joe, we love you and everything, you hunky beefcake, but we’re not really going to take you as the most reliable source of whether Terrence Malick has locked picture until official word arrives.
