The Double

In just under a month, Richard Ayoade‘s “The Double” will take you into a retro-future-punk world where there are two Jesse Eisenberg‘s and yet no one manages to confuse the two. In fact, one is smooth and confident, while the other is meek and anonymous, and the actor gets great mileage out of both parts in the film that hilarious and wonderfully put together. And now you can find out how it was all done.

Ayoade recently stopped by New Directors/New Films festival in New York City, and spent thirty minutes following the screening of the film talking about the ins and outs of his work. The self-effacing filmmaker discussed working with Avi Korine on the screenplay, adapting the novella by Fyodor Dostoevsky, transitioning from his main gig as a comedy actor to his more serious turn as a director and so much more.
