Anyone would with an eye on the bottom line understands that sentiment, and everyone involved with the massive success of "Deadpool" this weekend is eager to get rolling on the next movie. Ryan Reynolds in particular has writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to thank for crafting him a great role, not to mention reviving his career, so it makes sense he’ll star in another movie written by the pair.

Deadline reports that Reynolds has joined the cast for the sci-fi project "Life," for which Rebecca Ferguson is slated to star. Set to be directed by Daniel Espinosa ("Snabba Cash," "Safe House"), the Wernick- and Reese- penned story centers on the crew of an international space station who come across life on Mars. According to THR, Reynolds got the offer before "Deadpool" opened, and negotiations were taking place before the movie became a massive hit.
