Sometimes, you just gotta ask. For those wondering what Jessica Chastain might be doing in a movie like "The Huntsman: Winter’s War" (a fair question that could also be asked of Emily Blunt; neither actress was in the preceding movie which didn’t get the greatest reception), you can point your queries toward Chris Hemsworth who reveals to Glamour that he asked Chastain after meeting her at the Critics Choice Awards if she would be in the movie — but there was a caveat….she wanted to be in on the action.
"The first thing Jess said was, ‘Do I get to kick ass? And I said, ‘God yeah,’" Hemsworth said. "She’s been fantastic – there’s no shortage of talent there. When we were in conversation and Charlize [Theron], Jess and Emily, I thought, ‘Wow if we can pull this off it’ll be great. I was nervous about taking this on on my own. Jess has brought such a layered performance. There’s nothing passive about her – she’s definitely stronger than me."
