Watch A Biopic Of Tom Hanks Starring Sully Sullenberger (Thanks To Jimmy Kimmel)

This weekend saw the release of “Sully,” Clint Eastwood’s biopic of Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, the airline captain who heroically managed to land a stricken plane on the Hudson despite both engines giving out when they were hit by a flock of birds, starring Tom Hanks as the title character. The film had Eastwood’s best reviews in a while and has proved to be a box office triumph, taking over $35 million in three days, an impressive result for an adult-skewing movie like this one.

Inevitably, the film’s success will probably see rival studios try to cash in with similarly-themed movies, and it turns out we’ve already got one film hoping to emulate on the success of a biopic of Sully starring Tom Hanks —a biopic of Tom Hanks, starring Sully?

Of course, it’s not an actual movie, just a bit on Jimmy Kimmel Live. But it’s still is a clever bit by the standards of late night TV comedy c. 2016, by which we mean it’s not more goddamn Carpool Karaoke or lipsynching, and props to Sully for being so game. Good work from freshly-minted Emmy winner Peter Scolari as himself, too. “Sully” is in theaters now, and watch “Hanks” below.
