This weekend, the big movies opening are Adam Sandler‘s "Pixels" and the YA coming-of-age/"finding yourself" flick "Paper Towns." It seems grim, but trust us, there are much better options. Starring the terrific Nina Hoss, the post WWII movie (see our feature on other entries in the genre) brings with it a high concept story centering on a Holocaust survivor. Here’s the synopsis:

Set after the Second World War, PHOENIX tells the story of Nelly, a disfigured Holocaust survivor (Nina Hoss). Unrecognizable after facial reconstruction surgery, Nelly returns to find out if her husband (Ronald Zehrfeld) has betrayed her or loves her.
