Watch: James Mangold's 'Call Of Duty' Ad With Megan Fox, Jon M. Chu's Musical Virgin Airlines Spot & More

It’s tough finding funding for a non-tentpole these days and it’s only getting harder, so what’s a director to do? How about shooting a commercial on the fly to keep the juices flowing and the lights on?

First up, is James Mangold’s action-packed ad for latest entry in the blockbuster “Call of Duty” franchise, “Call of Duty: Ghosts.” Centered around a group of guys ostensibly having a night out in Las Vegas, the ad instead has the bros acting out dozens of different action movies with a cameo from Megan Fox. It’s about the kind of thing you’d expect for a “Call of Duty” ad but it’s clear that the “Wolverine” director knows his way around an action set piece. He’s certainly keeping his chops honed before making “The Wolverine” sequel. [Slashfilm]

Chances are that you’ve seen the new inflight safety video from Virgin America that’s been making the viral rounds since the end of last week. What you might not know is that Jon M. Chu—of “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Step Up 3D” fame—directed the video that sees him tap into those same skills he on “Step Up 2: The Streets.” It’s pure spectacle with 35 dancers and 14 different styles of dancing. And since the FAA rules on using electronics during flights have changed, you can see the video on your device as you’re taking off, no matter if you’re flying Virgin or not. [The Inspiration Room]

And finally, though he has directed nearly every season premiere of “Breaking Bad,” Bryan Cranston is only lending his voice to the ad for the iPad Air. It’s fairly typical of Apple’s advertising campaigns, which is to say that you’ll want to buy an iPad Air by the time the ad’s done. Check it out below/[The Inspiration Room]
