Watch: New Trailer For AMC's 'Preacher' Walks The Line

Seth Rogen has successfully made the leap to directing, helming the endlessly imaginative, celebrity packed, post-apocalyptic meta film “This is the End,” which he followed with “The Interview,” which basically resulted in North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un threatening the American government if they didn’t halt the release of the film in theaters. Suffice it to say Rogen is no stranger to controversy or daring content, and that’s being evidenced once again with his latest effort.

AMC cannot rely on “The Walking Dead” 24/7. This is where Rogen’s “Preacher” comes in. Directing the pilot and producing the series, the adaptation of Garth Ennis’ boundary-pushing, cult graphic novel sees Dominic Cooper playing a particularly sinful preacher, who gets mixed up with some equally questionable characters. Here’s the official series synopsis:

Preacher is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.

Co-starring Ruth Negga, Joe Gilgun, and Lucy Griffiths, the 10-episode series will premiere on May 22nd, and will be followed by a discussion series, “Talking Preacher.” Check out the new trailer below (or click here).
