Watch: Radiohead's "Burn The Witch" Video Fires Up 'The Wicker Man' Homage

“Since the song of sixpence that goes/Burn the witch/We know where you live” —that was the ominous message Radiohead mailed select fans last week, before completely wiping its internet presence over the weekend. For months, a new album has been rumored from the beloved band, and many speculated it was going to drop at any time. So Radiohead have finally delivered its first piece of new music since 2011’s The King Of Limbs (not counting the rejected theme song for “Spectre).

The band debuted “Burn The Witch” today with an animated video directed by Chris Hopewell, who has previously worked with band on promo videos for “There There” from Hail To The Thief. The british press in particular has noticed the style of the video is similar to vintage children’s shows “Trumpton,” “Chigley,” and “Camberwick Green,” while cinephiles have no doubt noted that it’s a very clear homage to the ’70s cult horror classic “The Wicker Man.”

Either way, it’s must watch and obviously a huge deal for Radiohead fans. “Burn The Witch” is now available on Spotify, Tidal, and iTunes. Watch the video up top.
