Kevin James has been a goofy mall cop in the ‘Paul Blart’ films. He’s been the goofy friend in the ‘Grown Ups’ films. And he’s been the goofy husband in the popular sitcom, “The King of Queens.” Do you see a pattern? He’s the type of actor that has been pretty much only seen in roles that require him to be a bumbling doofus. And to be fair, he’s great at it, as he’s one of the funniest actors working today. But in the new film, “Becky,” Kevin James stars in a role that you would never expect to see him portray.
With “Becky” arriving in theaters this week, we’re thrilled to give our readers a look at an exclusive clip from the thriller, showcasing the menacing performance given by Kevin James. You read that right—menacing. In the film, James plays a merciless, neo-Nazi killer that is on the hunt for a key that is in the possession of a young girl. And he’ll do anything, even kill the young girl and her family, to get what he wants.
Joining James in the cast are Lulu Wilson, Joel McHale, Amanda Brugel, and Robert Maillet. The film is directed by Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott, who are probably best known for their previous projects, “Cooties” and “Bushwick.”
“Becky” is set to premiere in select theaters, drive-ins, VOD, and Digital on June 5. You can watch the exclusive clip from the film below.
Here’s the synopsis:
Spunky and rebellious, Becky (Lulu Wilson) is brought to a weekend getaway at a lake house by her father Jeff (Joel McHale) in an effort to try to reconnect. The trip immediately takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick (Kevin James), suddenly invade the lake house.
