Bob Odenkirk Confirms 'Breaking Bad' Sequel Film Is Already Shot & Says "Everything's On Fire" In 'Saul' Season 5

Towards the end of 2018, news broke that the creative minds behind “Breaking Bad” were getting back together for a surprise sequel film to the acclaimed drama series. Of course, there was no confirmation from AMC about the film, but the show’s stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul sure did seem to confirm its existence. And now, not only is “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” actor Bob Odenkirk joining everyone and saying the sequel exists, but he is also confirming that the film has already been shot.

Speaking to THR, Odenkirk spoke about the untitled “Breaking Bad” sequel film, as well as the upcoming season of his Emmy-winning spin-off ‘Saul.’ And while he’s short on details, he does say that he’s just as excited as fans are for whatever the sequel film actually ends up looking like.

“I’ve heard so many different things about it, but I am excited about the ‘Breaking Bad’ movie. I can’t wait to see it,” he said. “I don’t know what people know and don’t know. I find it hard to believe you don’t know it was shot. They did it. You know what I mean? How is that a secret? But it is. They’ve done an amazing job of keeping it a secret.”

While we don’t know when AMC might release the still-untitled, unannounced “Breaking Bad” film that has been shot and definitely exists, Odenkirk is definitely coming back to the TV screen in the fifth season of “Better Call Saul,” sometime in 2020. And for the actor, fans will immediately realize that the “Breaking Bad” spin-off series is entering the final stages as everything begins to ramp up considerably.

“They’ve been building it slowly but it’s turning. Now it’s turning rapidly, I would say,” Odenkirk said. “That’s similar to ‘Breaking Bad,’ too. This very slow buildup as we go up the roller-coaster ramp and then it starts going downhill, it just cannot stop. And that’s where we are in season five, which we’re shooting right now.”

He added, “Season five is just everything’s on fire, and it’s just burning down around us.”

Many fans would put the quality of ‘Saul’ up against “Breaking Bad” anytime, and the way Odenkirk describes the future of the series is likely enough to get people extremely excited.

That being said, we still don’t know when Season 5 of “Better Call Saul” is going to arrive, other than it is in production now and will premiere sometime next year.
