Chloë Grace Moretz & Jack O'Connell Sign On To Play Bonnie And Clyde In 'Love Is A Gun'

Chloë Grace Moretz has been acting for well over a decade. Over that time, she has had quite a few hits, as well as some serious stinkers (looking at you, “Movie 43”). But recently, her film choices have been pretty great, including a starring role in the recent film “The Miseducation of Cameron Post,” as well as the upcoming “Greta” (opposite Isabelle Huppert) and “Suspiria.” And now, it looks like she’s adding another high-profile film to her IMDB, as Bonnie Parker of the Bonnie & Clyde duo in “Love is a Gun.”

THR reports that Moretz will star opposite Jack O’Connell in the upcoming film, directed by Kike Maillo. The film is based on the book “Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde,” by author Jeff Guinn. The film is adapted by writers Sheldon Turner, from “Up in the Air” fame, and Johnny Newman (“Narcos”). According to the report, “Love is a Gun” is described as a “thrilling, gritty and emotional story of two of history’s most famous lovers, Bonnie Parker, and Clyde Barrow.”

“We are excited to reintroduce the iconic story of Bonnie and Clyde,” said the producers of the film. “Their story remains ubiquitous in popular culture across the globe, yet few in this generation know the details of their intimate love affair and the circumstances that led to their notorious crime spree that captured the imagination of the world in their time. Kike, Chloë, and Jack are completely in sync about the character-driven approach we will be taking, and we feel lucky to have a creative team of this high caliber leading us forward,”

Maillo is a Spanish director best known for his films “Toro” and “Eva.” That film played Fantasia Fest in 2016 and went on to become a big hit for the filmmaker. Obviously, “Love is a Gun” will be his most high-profile work to date.

Jack O’Connell is perhaps best known for his role in Angelina Jolie’s film “Unbroken” back in 2014. However, more recently, O’Connell has had roles in the Netflix series “Godless,” as well as the upcoming films “Against All Enemies” and “Jungleland.”

No word on a release date for “Love is a Gun.”
