David Cronenberg To Guest Star On Syfy’s Time-Travel Pilot 'Rewind'

nullDavid Cronenberg certainly hasn't been lacking in things to do. The director has been in the midst of preparing/releasing back-to-back films: last year's underrated drama "A Dangerous Method" and the forthcoming "Cosmopolis," which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in a matter of weeks. And it looks like Cronenberg is ready to let someone else call the shots on set for the moment.

TVLine (via IndieWire) reports that the helmer will guest-star on SyFy's time-travel drama pilot "Rewind," which we didn't know existed and didn't care about until now, and which of course we now want to watch. Directed by "Lost" helmer and former Jack Ryan reboot director Jack Bender, the show will tell the tale of a bunch of military and scientist types who travel back in time so they can change the future and prevent a terrorist attack. Sounds like shit is gonna get complicated. As for Cronenberg, he'll be playing a Nobel Prize-winning scientist who, after his wife dies, loses it and concocts a plan to change history. Added bonus: Jeff Fahey is also in this.

As fans know, Cronenberg doesn't mind taking the odd acting job from time to time, doing a memorable stint on "Alias," recently featuring in "Happy Town" and popping up in a cameo in "Barney's Version." So we're eager to see what he does here. "Rewind" is currently in production in Toronto.
