The American director is best known for movies such as co-writing the recent Marvel hit “Thor: Love and Thunder,” and the 2019 movie “Someone Great” starring Gina Rodriguez.  “Do Revenge” will see popular sweetheart Drea (Camila Mendes), whose sex tape was leaked by her boyfriend, and transfer student Eleanor, who was outed in her last school, come together to deal with each other’s bullies and dish out some much-deserved revenge.

Speaking to ELLE.com, Robinson said: “I think there are different points where everyone’s the villain, and everyone’s the hero in this story. And that is so much of what growing up is. I wanted to make something that paints with all the colors of adolescence.”

“Do Revenge” has a star-studded cast full of the most influential teens in media today. Besides Hawke and Mendes, the cast is staked with names from all the big teen shows, including Austin Abrams (“Euphoria”), Alisha Boe (“13 Reasons Why”), Jonathan Daviss (“Outer Banks”), Rish Shah (“Ms. Marvel”), Ava Capri (“Love, Victor”), Maia Reficco (“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”), Paris Berelc (“Alexa & Katie”), and Talia Ryder (“Never, Really, Sometimes, Always”).

“Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner will also be making a surprise cameo, “I never thought she would say yes to this, and she did. And I’m so grateful to have her screaming at Camila Mendes. Not to toot my own horn, but that’s iconic.” Robinson said.

Here’s the official synopsis:

After a clandestine run-in, Drea (Alpha, fallen it girl) and Eleanor (beta, new alt girl) team up to go after each other’s tormentors. Do Revenge is a subverted Hitchcock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.

“Do Revenge” will premiere on Netflix on September 16, 2022. Watch the new trailer below.
