The journey from child to adult actor can be tricky, but Lukas Haas has navigated the path quite well. First making a name for himself as the young man who starred opposite Harrison Ford in "Witness," Haas has emerged as a strong supporting player in recent years, taking roles in films as diverse as "Red Riding Hood," "Inception" and "Contraband." But he's going to be showing a whole other side in the forthcoming "Meth Head," where he takes the lead in a gritty, grimy drama.
Directed by Jane Clark, Haas plays Kyle Peoples, an accountant in his 30s, stuck in a dead end job, with a lover who is more successful than he and a family that doesn't get him at all. But soon he is drawn into the allure and escape offered by crystal meth, and while partying with his new friends Maia and Dusty, he eventually loses his job, his companion, his home and his family. Thus begins a downward spiral, with the drug taking a toll both physically and psychologically, finally leaving him with one choice: life or meth.
There is no release date for the film just yet, but it will be doing the festival rounds this year repped by Circus Road Films. Check out the trailer below along with the exclusive looks at Lukas Haas, Blake Berris and Wilson Cruz in the film.
