Exclusive: Poster For Cult Thriller 'Faults' Starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead

nullIt’s easy to see why stories about cults are attractive to filmmakers, as in many way, the act of moviemaking itself is one of manipulating the audience into a certain mood or mindset. And writer/director Riley Stearns dives headlong into those themes in his feature film debut "Faults," which as the exclusive poster below notes, is about sects, cults and mind control.

Led by Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Leland Orser, the movie tells the story of Ansel, a washed up expert on mind control, who is hired by the desperate parents of Claire, to deprogram their daughter who has fallen in with a cult. However, the gig doesn’t unfold as planned, and soon Ansel and Claire are locked in a psychological battle of wills. Featuring a terrific performance by Winstead, "Faults" is a tense and darkly humorous look at the dynamics between leaders and followers, and reveals how easy it is for anyone to be cast under a spell of a charismatic personality with a good story to tell (here’s our SXSW review).

"Faults" opens on March 6th. Check out the poster below.
