Felicity Jones Is Ready For More 'Star Wars' Films: "Reincarnation Is Totally Possible"

Felicity Jones might be the actress that scored the highest praise for anyone who starred in the Disney-era “Star Wars” films. Even more so than Daisy Ridley, who garnered a ton of fans but also a lot of criticisms, Jones starred in a film that is often regarded as one of the best “Star Wars” films and her character seems to be one of the more interesting recent creations. All that to say, if ‘Rogue One’ didn’t kill Jyn Erso off, maybe we’d be excited to see a sequel featuring the character. Well, according to Felicity Jones, death is merely a stumbling block and there is plenty of stories left to tell.

Speaking to THR, Jones was asked about her role in the “Star Wars” universe and if there’s any hope of seeing Jyn return to the galaxy far, far away.

“I just keep saying that reincarnation is totally possible in the ‘Star Wars’ universe. [Laughs] So, I feel there’s unfinished business for Jyn, for sure,” said Jones.

In the interview, it’s revealed that Lucasfilm holds an option for a second film featuring Felicity Jones’ character, the actress went further into explaining what she thinks would be interesting about another chance to play Jyn Erso.

“I think it would be fascinating to see her getting older and wiser and fighting the dark forces in the universe, of which there are many it seems,” she explained.

Of course, the idea of watching Jyn get “older and wiser” would have to happen after the aforementioned “reincarnation.” If you’ve seen “Rogue One,” you’re well aware that Jyn, along with the rest of her rebel group, died at the end. So, the easier story would include a prequel, such as what Lucasfilm is doing with her teammate, Cassian Andor, and his upcoming Disney+ series.

That being said, if you were to rank the entire Disney-era “Star Wars” output, ‘Rogue One,’ might be at the top of the list. That would lead you to believe there is interest in seeing more of Jyn and her crew. So, as we saw with ‘Rise of Skywalker,’ reincarnation is definitely possible and crazier things have happened.
