First Look At 'The Hangover' Writers' '21 & Over' Reminds Us Why Hollywood Is Placing A Bet On Miles Teller

nullWhen you see the same name popping up over and over again, you know something's up. Such is the case with 25-year-old actor Miles Teller, who has enough of a baby face to genuinely pull off teen roles, plus the chops to back it up. He's had decent-sized parts in "Project X" and "Footloose," but where he's truly shined and where everyone in Hollywood must have noticed him was alongside Nicole Kidman in John Cameron Mitchell's deeply underrated "Rabbit Hole." Kidman earned her third Oscar nomination for Best Actress in the role of a bereaved mother and Teller plays the teenage boy who accidentally killed her young son with his car. Their scenes together are poignant and moving and Teller held his own.

Since then he's been picking up roles at a rapid pace: "Roger Dodger" filmmaker Dylan Kidd's "Get a Job" (starring Bryan Cranston, Anna Kendrick and more), "Smashed" director James Ponsoldt's "The Spectacular Now" (with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Shailene Woodley to name a few), "Two Night Stand," "Are We Officially Dating" with Zac Efron, and the latest from Relativity, "21 And Over," of which we've received a first look above. And aside from 'Dating,' most of these aren't your average run-of-the-mill teen comedies and Teller clearly continues to impress.

Which leads us to "21 And Over," which yes, sounds like your average teen comedy, but we should note: it's directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers and creators of "The Hangover," so maybe this is one worth keeping an eye on. Here's the synopsis:

Skylar Astin ("Pitch Perfect"), Miles Teller ("Footloose") and Justin Chon ("Twilight") star in "21 And Over," a hilarious movie that showcases a rite of passage gone horribly wrong. Straight-A college student Jeff Chang has always done what’s expected of him. But when his two best friends Casey and Miller surprise him with a visit for his 21st birthday, he decides to do the unexpected for a change, even though his critical medical school interview is early the next morning. What was supposed to be one beer becomes one night of chaos, over indulgence and utter debauchery in this outrageous comedy.

Co-starring Sarah Wright, Francois Chau, Jonathan Keltz, Daniel Booko and Dustin Ybarra, the movie opens in theaters on March 1, 2013.
