It’s been a weird buildup to the first official look at Jared Leto‘s The Joker in "Suicide Squad." Warner Bros., David Ayer, and the actor himself milked every moment for what it was worth, from Leto getting his haircut to blurry cell photos of possible glimpses. But perhaps to beat the inevitable stream of paparazzi shots as filming gets underway, the first official look is here.
Released to Twitter by the director, this version of The Joker is a bit Captain Obvious, underscoring his personality with tattoos. He’s got the word "damaged" inked on his foreward, and Hahahahahaha up and down one arm and on his chest. The rest of the look riffs on Alan Moore‘s "Killing Joke" take on the villain with a shock of green hair. But Leto only wears one purple glove and has got some serious dental work/grills.
