With Hugh Jackman promising, for real, to hang up the claws after "Wolverine 3," he’s looking for different kinds of projects to keep him busy. And indeed, this year alone saw him go full mullet for "Chappie," and in a couple of months, full beard for "Pan." He may need to grow the hair, both on his face and head, for this role.
Deadline reports that he’ll take the lead in "Apostle Paul." Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are producing this one which, as the title suggests, will tell the story of the disciple who was converted on the Road To Damascus — literally blinded by the sight of Jesus — who became one of the most powerful voices preaching the word of the Saviour, and wrote pretty much half of the New Testament. Matt Cook ("Triple Nine") is writing the script, but no word yet on who might direct.
Meanwhile, Deadline also reveals that Rachel Weisz has joined Colin Firth in the untitled Donald Crowhurst biopic. James Marsh will direct the Scott Z. Burns, penned movie about Crowhurst’s entry in the 1968 Golden Globe Race, where under-equipped and ill-prepared, he began to lag behind. However, in a bid to keep up appearances, he began lying about his location in radio updates, and slowly went mad. By time the race was over, his vessel was found abandoned, and Crowhurst was nowhere to be found and presumed dead. Presumably, Weisz is taking the role of Crowhurst’s wife, Clare, which was originally slotted for Kate Winslet. Filming begins this spring.
