Jack Huston & Toby Kebbell Vying To Lurch As 'Frankenstein'

nullThe project’s been kicking around for a couple years now, but it looks like a new “Frankenstein” movie is moving closer towards reality. Daniel Radcliffe’s all set to play Igor and Fox has recently given the film an October 2014 release date. Now the studio, along with director Paul McGuigan (“Lucky Number Slevin”), is looking for someone to play Victor Von Frankenstein. The names being thrown around are quite intriguing.

Jack Huston (“Boardwalk Empire”) and Toby Kebbell (“The East,” “Prince of Persia”) are both being flown in to London to read for the part. Now it’s not set in stone that it’s only down to Huston or Kebbell, and the list could be expanded. Still, we should be hearing something solid within the next week or so. Jack Huston would certainly be an interesting choice; he most recently worked alongside Radcliffe in “Kill Your Darlings” which premiered earlier this year at Sundance, and he continues to blow folks away on the HBO show. 2014 could be a big year for Kebbell if he were to get the part; he’s in the middle of filming “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” which is set to be released next summer, and this could be a good step up into a more substantial part for the actor.

We’ll most likely be getting more casting news about “Frankenstein” in the next few weeks, as the project is expected to start filming in the fall. [Deadline]
