The folks at Steele Wars sat down with Maltin for a fascinating talk not just about his meeting with Lucas, but the "Star Wars" phenomenon in general. The writer gives some great context for the era in which "Star Wars" was launched, reminding listeners that at the time, prior to its release, the movie wasn’t held in much regard, and was something of an anomaly as studios weren’t really making sci-fi and movies. From there, the conversation takes in the sequels, prequels, J.J. Abrams‘s upcoming effort and much more.
