Listen: "Crazy In Love" Cover From 'The Great Gatsby' Plus Watch 2 New Music Driven TV Spots

The Great GatsbyReady for a Great Gatsbonanza of new promotional material for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming adaptation of “The Great Gatsby”? Let’s hope so.

The film will finally hit theaters on May 10th, as well as premiering at Cannes five days later, and for some an equally important date will be May 7th, as that sees the release of the Jay-Z executive-produced soundtrack album. Half of the promotion for the movie seems to be centered around the music, and that’s continuing with Emeli Sande and the Bryan Ferry Orchestra’s jazzy cover of Beyonce‘s “Crazy in Love” debuting in its entirety online.

Then comes a pair of new TV spots, each featuring one of the high profile songs from the soundtrack. The first is powered by Jay-Z himself, and his track “100$ Bill,” while the other features Lana Del Rey’s “Young and Beautiful,” which the singer co-wrote with Luhrmann. Opinions will differ as to whether these tracks are any good in isolation, but we’ll all have to play a waiting game to figure out whether they work in the context of the film.

And finally, something in now way soundtrack related, the movie has one new poster and it’s a character poster spotlighting Amitabh Bachchan. It may not be the most exciting poster we’ve ever seen, but we’re going to bet that in certain territories it will be the most important in terms of driving patrons to the theater.
