When you’re an established, award-winning filmmaker like Wes Anderson, you have no shortage of actors waiting to get the call to work with you. While Anderson has been known to keep his acting troupe onboard for multiple features, he does occasionally expand to include some upstarts looking for their big break. And for his upcoming untitled feature, which is about to begin production, he’s brought on the scrappy young Tom Hanks and it appears the filmmaker is ready to welcome a relatively unknown actress by the name of *checks notes* Margot Robbie.

All kidding aside, according to THR, Wes Anderson is taking his already star-studded ensemble of previous collaborators and adding Margot Robbie to the mix for his upcoming film that is beginning production in Spain. As mentioned, she’s joining a cast that includes newcomer to Anderson films, Tom Hanks, as well as regulars such as Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton.
The plot for the new film is unknown, as is the title. So, don’t expect much news in the way of what role Robbie might have in the feature. THR is reporting that whatever the role is, it’s expected to be a supporting performance and not a lead.
Robbie is coming off another scene-stealing performance as the DC superhero Harley Quinn in “The Suicide Squad.” She’s also recently been in high-profile films such as “Bombshell” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” She’s also expected to play the title character in the upcoming “Barbie” film.
But before she turns into a plastic doll, Robbie is set to take a trip to Spain to work on the latest whimsical, quirky feature from Wes Anderson.
