'Mission Impossible: Fallout' IMAX Preview Trailer: This Is A Halo Jump

For those of you who don’t have enough “Mission Impossible: Fallout” footage to be excited about yet, Paramount has released an extended IMAX preview for the film, as well as another behind-the-scenes featurette focusing on the cast.  Trailers for the newest installment in the franchise have been surprisingly electric. Showing off a grainy, ‘70s look from all sorts of visceral angles, the action looks thrilling – much to the credit of Tom Cruise’s unprecedented stunt work. Past installments in the series had one or two extreme and marketable stunts, while this installment seems like it is topping those with ease. Cruise spent months training to become a skilled helicopter pilot for one sequence, and jumped more than 100 times out of a plane for another.

Beyond the stunts, the story sees the aging Ethan Hunt at his most desperate. His personal life seems to be more involved than ever and his team of allies is shrinking. Writer/Director Christopher McQuarrie has said that this is a “different” Mission Impossible. He promises a much more emotional story as Ethan Hunt must face some of his “deepest fears.” Paramount certainly seems confident that the film will deliver, as they have not missed a step in hyping the film up as one of the most exciting this summer.

The second video focuses on the core group of cast members that we have grown to love, plus the new addition of Henry Cavill. From Ving Rhames, who has been there since day one, to Rebecca Ferguson, making her second appearance in the series, each cast member brings something interesting to the ensemble.

Here is the film’s official synopsis:

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.

“Mission Impossible: Fallout” stars franchise returners Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, and Alec Baldwin along with Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Sean Harris.

The film hits theaters July 27.
