When it was announced a little less than a year ago that Sebastian Stan and Lily James were cast as the leads in a new series about Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson, people were shocked. But when the teaser image was released and it was clear both actors fit those roles perfectly, the excitement for “Pam & Tommy” grew. Now, with the first teaser trailer, it’s clear Hulu could have something special coming in February.
As seen in the teaser, “Pam & Tommy” tells the true story of Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee—the former being a playmate-turned-actress and the latter being the drummer for ‘80s rock band, Motley Crue—and how their home sex tape was leaked all over the internet. While sex tapes and leaked nudes are much more common in 2021, when this happened in the ‘90s, no one had ever seen anything like this on such a huge scale. The series also tells the story from the POV of the two men responsible for leaking the tape, played by Seth Rogen (who also produces) and Nick Offerman, two of the funniest actors working today. All this to say, there are multiple reasons why people should be excited about this series.
The cast for the limited series includes Lily James, Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Pepi Sonuga, Spencer Granese, and Mozhan Marnò. “Pam & Tommy” is directed by Craig Gillespie, who is probably best known for his work on the film, “I, Tonya.” Gillespie also recently served as the director of the Apple TV+ series, “Physical,” as well as the director of the Disney film, “Cruella.”
“Pam & Tommy” is set to premiere on Hulu on February 2. You can watch the teaser below.
