Paul Thomas Anderson Shot Footage Of Haim's Coachella Show

Paul Thomas Anderson is sticking to his promise: he’s going to direct as many music videos or related visual events as he can for pop rock sisters HAIM. “I do music videos because the Haim girls are in my life. As long as they’re around, I’ll hopefully be doing music videos for them,” Anderson told us in an exclusive interview for “Phantom Thread” last year.

“That’s one of the best creative relationships I’ve had in a while. I love those girls. I hope to do their whole filmography. I love them. It’s great music, they’re super charismatic to film. Este Haim took reprieve from the band running through a story about catching a Coachella headlining set from Prince after Kesha gave her a chocolate-covered mushroom.”

Will we see the footage eventually? Perhaps on some kind of concert DVD doc? Hard to say, but presumably the director didn’t shoot the footage for the hell of it. Meanwhile, PTA didn’t shoot an Adam Sandler stand-up show for Netflix (though he apparently shot some footage), but the writer/director does apparently have a 600-page screenplay in-development that he hopes to cobble down into a manageable movie. More on the HAIM project when it arrives.
