Shia LaBeouf Joins Vanessa Kirby In 'White God' Filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó's 'Pieces Of A Woman'

Just yesterday, we reported that Vanessa Kirby was signed on to star in the upcoming filmPieces of a Woman” from acclaimed Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó. As if the inclusion of Kirby, who is one of the biggest soon-to-be-stars in the world wasn’t enough, it appears that the Shia LaBeouf comeback tour is going to make a stop at this production, as well.

The film’s studio, BRON Studios, has just announced that not only is Kirby joining the upcoming film, but LaBeouf has also signed on to star in Mundruczó’s latest.

Here’s the brief synopsis for the film:

When a home birth goes tragically awry, a grieving woman is thrust into an emotional inner journey by trying to come to terms with her loss while also dealing with the ramifications in her interpersonal relationships with her husband and estranged mother.

LaBeouf is having a moment right now, thanks to 2019 producing two strong outings for the star. First, “The Peanut Butter Falcon” was not only a bit of a festival darling earlier this year, but turned into a modest indie box office hit, earning $20 million domestically. That’s more money than the star-studded “The Kitchen,” the Oscar-worthy “The Farewell,” and the much-hyped “Late Night.”

Later this year, LaBeouf will have “Honey Boy” hitting theaters riding even more of a positive critical wave than ‘Falcon.’ And not only is “Honey Boy” more of an acting showcase for LaBeouf, but he is also intimately involved with the story of the film, as the drama is a loose re-telling of his life as a young actor.

Now, it appears that the actor is teaming up with the acclaimed filmmaker that won the Un Certain Regard award at Cannes for the incredible film “White God.” That’s a combination that makes “Pieces of a Woman” something that is already must-see.

Production on “Pieces of a Woman” is expected to begin in December. Let’s be honest, this has all the makings of a film we’ll be talking about come next fall’s festival season.
