'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Novelization To Feature Deleted Scenes

Oscar nominee and the movie responsible for tearing fanboys apart, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” isn’t done giving something for people to argue about. There’s still much more to come, including sequences that Rian Johnson cut from the theatrical version that will show up on Blu-ray and home video. There are also deleted scenes that will be brought to life in the film’s official novelization by Jason Fry.

“The Star Wars Show” revealed today that the upcoming book will give fans some bang for their buck, with material that wasn’t in the movie. And it’s some very interesting stuff. Fans can expect to read all about Han Solo’s funeral; scenes with Rose and her sister Paige together; along with more stuff from Canto Bight. Will we see some of the deleted scenes Rian Johnson has talked about come to life on the page as well? I’d assume it’s a safe bet.

“[On] the island, there’s a massive sequence that we shot with Daisy and Mark, which is kind of an additional sort of trial/test that she goes through, that involves her and Mark, and then a big emotional scene between the two of them. I mean, it’s big stuff, it’s like actual real scenes,” he said in December about what was left on the cutting room floor.

“There’s a whole extended sequence where Finn and Rose and DJ sneak through the Mega Destroyer when they’re kind of, after they sneak in with DJ and they’re trying to find the tracker,” Johnson added. “There’s a whole extended sequence. It’s a full sequence of like stuff with them sneaking through this big office area of the Mega Destroyer and then having to fake out these Stormtroopers.”

Exciting stuff for those of us (including me) who want to take a deeper dive into “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” The official novelization will hit stores on March 6th. Check out the latest episode of “The Star Wars Show” below.
