'The Perfection' Trailer: Allison Williams & Logan Browning Star In New 'Black Swan'-esque Horror-Thriller

Following in the footsteps of recent horror success “Bird Box,” Netflix is set to release the new horror-thriller film “The Perfection” this May. Starring Allison Williams (“Get Out”) and Logan Browning (“Dear White People”), this upcoming film looks to become the latest breakout hit for the streaming service.

“The Perfection” premiered at last year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin and has been receiving generally positive reviews so far, indicating that it may be another contemporary horror success story. The film revolves around troubled musical genius Charlotte, played by Williams. When Charlotte seeks out fellow musical prodigy Elizabeth (Browning), their encounter will lead them both down a twisted, sinister path. This idea of artists who go down a disturbing road may potentially place “The Perfection” among films like “Black Swan” or “Suspiria,” especially considering the rumors of the film’s shocking and unsettling twists and turns.

“The Perfection” is directed by Richard Shepard, a veteran television director behind critically acclaimed shows like “Ugly Betty,” “30 Rock,” and “Girls.” However, with limited film experience and little exposure to the horror genre, this will be relatively new ground for the filmmaker. Similarly, for Browning, this film will be an opportunity to prove herself as an actress, as this will be one of her biggest film roles and a chance to gain more respect outside of her TV experience. This is not the case for Williams – her previous experience working with Shepard on “Girls” and acting experience in “Get Out” should leave her feeling confident and comfortable in this upcoming role.

“The Perfection” will be released globally on Netflix on May 24.
