Got a Tip?

Vera Farmiga & James Caan Join Keanu Reeves For ‘Henry’s Crime’

Last we heard, the Sacha Gervasi scripted, “Henry’s Crime” starring Keanu Reeves was greenlit and found its director in “44 Inch Chest” helmer Malcolm Venville. Gervasi himself (who directed the excellent documentary, “Anvil! The Story of Anvil”) told us the film would shoot this fall and most of that story has come to pass.

The picture, a mixture of rom-com and dramedy about a depressed Buffalo toll both worker going through an existentialist crisis in falsely accused of robbing a bank in Buffalo, has added two cast members according to Variety: James Caan and Vera Farmiga, who will likely play the love interest. “It’s a twisted, romantic comedy, very dark and funny,” Gervasi told us earlier this year.

No shooting date is set yet, and since since we’re smackdab in the middle of fall, we can probably assume this one won’t shoot until 2010 now.

Having tirelessly promotes the essentially self-released “Anvil” which came out on DVD earlier this month (no one sent us a copy, boo ), next up for Gervasi is trying to get his Herve Villachez biopic (Tattoo,
the little guy from the 80s TV show, “Fantasy Island”) off the ground starring Peter Dinklage.

Malcolm Venville’s long-delayed “44 Inch Chest,” just received its London Film Festival and still has no U.S release. Despite a strong cast (Ray Winstone, Tom Wilkinson, Ian McShane, John Hurt), reviews across the pond weren’t great (our reporter in the U.K. didn’t love it either) suggesting a proper U.S. release might not happen.
