So what’s the deal U.S. distributors? How come no one has swooped in and bought “Filth” yet? It seems like the perfect fit for someone like IFC Midnight or Drafthouse Films, and we really hope the poor performance of “Trance” isn’t the reason folks are cautious on this James McAvoy flick. Because, while it’s not going to win any awards, it looks like the perfect kind of outlandish, ridiculous Irvine Welsh adaptation we’ve been waiting for since…well, “Trainspotting.”
Anyway, folks overseas are going to get the first taste of the movie when it arrives in theaters in the next couple of weeks, but for the rest of us, some red band clips will have to hold us over for now. In these scenes, we witness perverted, corrupt cop McAvoy seeing a man about a dog and getting some drugs out of the deal, and we listen in as he talks about the through misuse and abuse of the office copier. Altogether it’s high energy stuff that seems to be managing the tone that Welsh is known for just right.
Co-starring Jamie Bell, Imogen Poots, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan and more, “Filth” starts rolling out abroad on September 27th. Watch below and check out lots of new pics too.
