Well, it didn't take long for a remake of Gus Van Sant's "Restless" to get off the ground. Okay, so it's not officially a remake but with a short-haired young protagonist battling a terminal disease with an indie rock soundtrack (yep, that's The Flaming Lips' "Do You Realize?" you hear) and a guy to help her along the way…well, this is all seems very familiar.
The first trailer for the Dakota Fanning weepie "Now Is Good" has arrived and it's so saccharine sweet, you might get a few cavities watching it. The film follows 17-year-old Tessa who is dying of leukemia and enlists the help of a young man (Jeremy Irvine) to help her knock out her bucket list before she dies, which includes losing her virginity and doing drugs. No stranger to button-pushing dramedy, this film comes courtesy of Ol Parker who last helmed "Imagine Me & You" about a newlywed bride who falls in love with another woman.
Anyway, you can see Fanning, her new haircut and her not-half-bad accent below. "Now Is Good" opens in the U.K. on May 25th. Sony has the U.S. rights but no date has been set, and we presume it will get shuffled off to VOD/DVD. [Yahoo]
