Sorry, it’s not the "Wolverine" and "Kingsman" crossover you were hoping for. But the two stars of those franchises, Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton, have teamed up to hit the slopes in "Eddie The Eagle," and the first trailer for the sports flick has arrived.
Directed by Dexter Fletcher ("Wild Bill," "Sunshine On Leith"), and co-starring Jo Hartley, Tim McInnerny, Rune Temte, and Christopher Walken, the movie will tell the true story of the titular British Olympic ski jumper. Here’s the official synopsis:
Eddie the Eagle follows the realisation of the childhood dream of Michael Edwards (a.k.a Eddie), and his unflinching determination to become Great Britain’s first Olympic ski-jumper. Reluctantly aided by former ski-jumper Bronson Peary as his coach, Eddie is unwavering in his quest to reach the 1988 Calgary Winter Games. Eddie the Eagle is an uplifting, inspirational story that celebrates human spirit, passion, and one man’s refusal to accept defeat.
"Eddie The Eagle" opens on February 26, 2016, and in the U.K. on April 1, 2016.
