Yes, Cannes is next week and there are a lot of films playing, but it seems there are only two movies playing: “The Rover” and “Maps To The Stars.” It seems every day comes another peek at one of those films, and today is no different, with David Cronenberg‘s film getting yet another trailer.
As you know, Robert Pattinson, John Cusack, Julianne Moore, Mia Wasikowska, Olivia Williams and Sarah Gadon all star in this one, telling the tale of a Hollywood dynasty through a particularly caustic lens. And the tone is still one we’re trying to get a handle on. The new trailer is both broad and arch, but the performances seem to be pitched in a curious key, one that at times seems a bit off kilter. But getting satire confined in a trailer can be tricky, so here’s hoping the combined power of this one hits all the right notes.
