Evan Rachel Wood Talks ‘Westworld’ Season 2, Has Already Figured Out The Big Twist

With “Game Of Thrones” likely not dropping its final season until 2019, HBO‘s successor series is arguably “Westworld,” and it will be more than ably filling the gap. The high concept sci-fi was a sensation out of the gate, and enthusiasm remained high right up into its mind blowing conclusion.  Anticipation is already at a fever pitch for season two when it arrives next year (I’d put hard money it’ll fill the summer slot take by ‘GoT’ this year), and star Evan Rachel Wood is making us even more jazzed for what’s to come.

The actress was of course careful not to spill to much about what we’ll be seeing in the next round of episodes, but for those of us hoping the narrative will leave the titular theme park and explore other worlds, we’ll be getting our wish.

“It’s twice as ambitious. I’ll try to say the things the showrunners have said, so I know it’s okay. I think somebody asked Jonathan Nolan if we were going to see other worlds this season, or how many worlds we would see, and he said, ‘More than one?’ So there’s that little tidbit. [Laughs],” Wood told Vulture.

As for her character Dolores, the actress says she’ll be “woke” this season, but “still the essence of who she was, but awake.” And get ready, because there’s another twist coming, and Wood has already solved it.

“I figured it out again!” she stated. “I figure[d] it out, but they don’t fill in the blanks for me. Usually I’m like, ‘Okay, I think I have an idea of where this is going,’ and then the payoff is always so incredible, so much bigger than I could ever imagine. I think the same goes for the audience — you’re supposed to figure out the show, and even if you do, it’s okay because the payoff will always be way more than you could ever dream up. So I did kind of talk to one of the showrunners and say, ‘Okay, tell me if I’m going in the right direction. Is it this?’ and they said, ‘Stop bugging the writers room! Don’t tell this to anyone!’ I was like, ‘Okay! Okay!’ ”
