Outside of Steven Soderbergh, we’d have to say that Guy Ritchie is one of the most prolific filmmakers of the past decade or so. Over the past couple of years, he’s had three major films released. Sure, not all of them did well at the box office, but the man is fast. Now, he’s already putting together a cast for a new film that will begin production in 2025.

According to Black Bear, Guy Ritchie has tapped Benedict Cumberbatch, Rosamund Pike, and Anthony Hopkins to lead his new film, “Wife & Dog.” Written and directed by Ritchie, the film is said to showcase the colorful, back-stabbing world of the British aristocracy.
As mentioned, Ritchie has released a number of films over the recent years including, “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” “The Covenant,” “Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre,” “Wrath of Man,” and “The Gentlemen.” Not to mention, he was one of the driving forces behind “The Gentlemen” TV series. As for what he has coming up, he has “In the Grey” and “Fountain of Youth” in various stages of post-production.
Cumberbatch is probably best known for his work as Doctor Strange in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. More recently, he’s shown up in films like “The End We Start From” and “The Book of Clarence.” On TV, he’s appeared in the Netflix show, “Eric.” Rosamund Pike has recently appeared in films such as “Saltburn” and “I Care A Lot.” She’s also starring in the aforementioned Ritchie film, “In the Grey.” Hopkins is a goddamn legend. He’s been in a number of massive films. So, his name is always a welcome addition.
It’s unclear when we might see “Wife & Dog” debut, but production is expected to begin in February 2025.
