“Arrival” is not the alien invasion you’re expecting, and that’s a good thing. A movie where language and memory are key elements, and where a third act turn has nothing at all to do with blockbuster-style explosions, Denis Villeneuve‘s sci-fi effort is moving, profound, and one of the best films of the year. So, while you’re watching this final trailer, just remember there’s much more beyond the surface.
Starring Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Forest Whitaker, the story follows a linguist who is hired by the military to communicate with aliens after mysterious spacecrafts appear around the globe.
