The Excellent 'Stranger Things' Score Will Be Getting An Official Release, Plus Listen To Spotify Playlist Of Soundtrack Songs

As you’ve likely already heard, “Stranger Things” is the real deal. The Netflix series from The Duffer Brothers is a wonderfully inspired melange of Steven Spielberg‘s best Amblin output, the creature features and sci-fi flicks from the 1970s and 1980s, all spun into a gripping, highly entertaining supernatural series with lots of heart. And one more of the many ingredients that makes the show work is the terrific score, and the good news is that’s it’s coming soon.

The show’s official Facebook has announced that the soundtrack by composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein will be “coming soon.” Their work owes a particularly big debt to John Carpenter, but also stands on its own, with the throbbing synth-powered work providing a great backdrop to the drama. And if you want more electronic burbles from Dixon and Stein, the pair are also part of the band S U R V I V E, who will be issuing their new album RR7349 on September 30th.

Until the score arrives, check out the opening credits sequence to get a taste, a Spotify playlist with the era-specific songs featured in the show, and a song from S U R V I V E’s upcoming record. [FACT]
