Lets regurgitate the narrative that’s going to surround “Assassin’s Creed” until the movie finally comes out later this year: for the most part there has never been a successful video game movie adaptation. It’s not for lack of trying, and Universal will try with “Warcraft” this summer (and things are already looking dicey with that one). So let’s hope “Assassin’s Creed” fares a bit better. It certainly has the talent.
Directed by Justin Kurzel, the movie is a bit of a reunion as it reteams the “Macbeth” core trio of Kurzel, Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard. And speaking of the French actress, new photos of “Assassin’s Creed” have arrived including one that is a first look of Cotillard in the movie. Here’s the synopsis:
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day.
“Assassin’s Creed” opens in theaters worldwide on December 21st. Check out the new photos below.
