This time around, Korine has gone haute couture, helming a post for Yves Saint Laurent’s fragrance Black Opium. Featuring model Edie Campbell, the promo feels a little bit like it has borrowd a page from Nicolas Winding Refn, with the face of the campaign making her way through neon slicked streets in an anonymous city, backed by the sounds of Emma Louise‘s “Jungle.” Those expecting some of Korine’s trademark wildness won’t find it here, but it’s interesting to see the filmmaker work in a different, more luxurious register.
