While there has always been plenty of talk about making a superhero movie where the protagonist is aging out (such as Darren Aronofsky‘s mooted but never made Batman movie), mainstream cinema has never really gone down that path. But it seems “Logan” will put those cards on the table. Professor X has never been more helpless, while Wolverine is battle wearied and laying low. But as always, he’ll be drawn back into the fight.

The new film from James Mangold sees a young mutant come under the care of Wolverine, and she’s got major trouble headed her way. And the result is an R-rated movie that fans are highly anticipating. Here’s the official synopsis:
In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.
