It’s Christmas Eve for cinephiles, as tomorrow the Cannes Film Festival will kick off on the Croisette. Plenty of goodies have been shared early, including lots of posters, trailers, and clips from the movies hitting the south of France, and today comes an intense first poster for one of the festival’s most anticipated titles, Yorgos Lanthimos‘ “The Killing Of A Sacred Deer.”

Starring Colin Farrell and Nicole Kidman, the psychological thriller/revenge tale, inspired by Euripides, follows a surgeon who has to fight for the survival of his family. Here’s the official synopsis:

Steven, a charismatic surgeon, is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice after his life starts to fall apart, when the behaviour of a teenage boy he has taken under his wing turns sinister.

“The Killing Of A Sacred Deer” opens on November 3rd.

The trailer out for this one yet?

Not yet, and my guess is that they’re waiting till after the Cannes screenings so they can float positive blurbs on the trailer.

        Thanks for that, Kyle.
