Kiyoshi Kurosawa Unravels The Tension In Trailer For Thriller 'Creepy'

Japanese director Kiyoshi Kurosawa is one of few filmmakers operating between respected dramas like “Tokyo Sonata” and last year’s Cannes prize winning “Journey To The Shore,” and horror/thrillers like “Pulse,” and it’s in that latter category that he returns with “Creepy.” The film is circulating extensively on the festival circuit this year, is gearing up open in wide release this fall, and we have a sampling of what’s in store.

Starring Hidetoshi Nishijima, Yuko Takeuchi, Teruyuki Kagawa, Haruna Kawaguchi and Masahiro Higashide, the story follows an ex-detective who is drawn into an unsolved investigation that starts to wear on his psyche. Here’s the official synopsis:

Based on a novel by Yutaka MAEKAWA, “Creepy” follows ex-police detective and criminal psychologist Takakura, who moves to a quiet suburban town seeking peace and quiet, but soon begins to suspect that his neighbour is a psychopath who comes into people’s households and takes over their lives.

“Creepy” opens on October 21st.
