“Moonlight” star Mahershala Ali is a hot commodity within Hollywood right now. Hot off the heels of his Screen Actors Guild award, and more importantly, his first Oscar nomination, Ali is now lining up an exciting project with Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum.
The actor will look to carry on his form into “Triple Frontier.” Produced by Charles Roven (“The Dark Knight”) and Alex Gartner (“Warcraft: The Beginning”), the movie will be directed by J.C Chandor (“A Most Violent Year”), and weave an action/adventure story in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Although finer details on the project are currently under wraps, it’s exciting to see such esteemed names attached.
Ali, whose appearances include recent roles in the hit “Hidden Figures” and Netflix series “Luke Cage” will be in great company with Hardy and Tatum. Additionally, the screenplay will be penned by Mark Boal whose credits include “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Hurt Locker” — which bagged him an Academy Award for Best Original screenplay in 2010. We’ll keep you up to date as more details emerge for the movie. [THR]
