Matt Damon Reveals He'll Cameo In 'Ocean's Eight'

When early word started bubbling about the all-female “Ocean’s Eight,” the buzz was that George Clooney‘s Danny Ocean might make an appearance, but then that soon shifted, and the chatter was that he would instead pop by for “Ocean’s Nine” (if that happens). But it appears at least one actor from the original crew will be showing up in the currently filming spinoff.

Chatting with Entertainment Tonight, Matt Damon casually let it slip that his Linus Caldwell would make a cameo. “I’m doing a little bit in the movie,” Damon revealed. “I haven’t read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I’m excited to see what those women do with it. It’s going to be fun.”

Starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina, with Gary Ross (“Pleasantville,” “The Hunger Games,” “Free State Of Jones“) directing, the story reportedly involves a heist at the Met Gala. How Linus fits in, we’ll have to wait and see, but he spent most of the original trilogy trying to impress Danny and Rusty. I presume he’ll once again try and lend his assistance.

“Ocean’s Eight” is now filming and will open on June 8, 2018.
