All The Music In ‘Suicide Squad’: Kanye West, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath & More

Boy, Warner Bros. is having a tough year. “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” got clobbered in every which way, the same is happening with “Suicide Squad” (read our review), and while the second DCU film looks like it will have a terrific opening weekend, if audiences don’t like what they see, much like ‘BvS,’ there could be little longtail to its box office and it could greatly underperform like ‘Dawn Of Justice.’

Some fans are calling for critics’ blood and petitioning to have Rotten Tomatoes shut down because the bad movie is all the critics’ fault and those who haven’t seen it are completely right. Sigh. If anything, it shows there is still a fervent audience for “Suicide Squad,” and they’ll soon discover that the soundtrack is a pretty major part of the movie. But like a lot of films, the soundtrack CD doesn’t feature a lot of the key music in the superhero movie including most of the classic rock cuts that are crucial to the characters.

So, in case you were left wondering about which cuts you heard in the flick, we’ve got a list of all the music used in “Suicide Squad,” which includes tracks by Kanye West, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, The Animals, Rick James, AC/DC, Queen, The White Stripes, Etta James and more (and that Panic at The Disco cover of “Bohemian Rhapsody” is not in the movie either, thank God).

Licensing music can be cost prohibitive beyond its use in the film, and sometimes artists will only agree for their music to be used in the movie, but not appear on the official soundtrack CD. Whatever the case is, if you look at the current “Suicide Squad” soundtrack for commercial release, it nearly exclusively uses contemporary music (including some songs not making the film), and most of the classic, old cuts (aside from Creedence Clearwater Revival) are left off the CD.

But we got you. Below, the entire list of music used in “Suicide Squad” in order of its appearance in the film.
