The folks behind David Lynch’s upcoming new season of “Twin Peaks” have been selective about what official information is being shared. While the massive and kinda bonkers official cast list has been revealed, beyond that, the exact number of episodes, and even when it will debut has been a bit up in the air. But there’re a couple more details that have been… well, not quite confirmed, but seemingly solidified.
Ray Wise AKA Leland Palmer was at San Diego Comic Con over the weekend for the “Batman: The Killing Joke” panel, and revealed a couple of interesting “Twin Peaks” nuggets. Firstly, that David Lynch was directing every single episode (though, that has been a given for a while), that there will be eighteen of them, and it will air next summer. The debut date falls in with previous word that Showtime would deliver the new show in the second quarter of 2017.
Wise also said that he appears in all the episodes, so feel free to put on your speculation caps about what that might mean for the story that picks up over twenty-five years after the series first aired. [Flavorwire]
